I can't even tell you how perfectly timed this is...

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and after checking it three times ("Let me do that again, that can't be right!") my blood pressure turned out to be 135 over 85. Stress. My 'trick' (which obviously isn't quite working) is to eradicate it where and whenever possible, which in most cases neither is possible, hence the stress. Move to plan B, which is to find ways to deal better with stress. It comes down to the little things. Be healthy: drink water, eat healthy, exercise, take your vitamins. Make lists, fill in your calendar, stay financially aware, plan for the future, don't beat yourself up -ever. Figure out what you would be doing if you had all the time in the world and once in a while drop everything to do just that, and don't beat yourself up. Things that don't get done can be added to all the other things that don't get done -add to all the other things that you demand from your life that you live it. Our kids will grow up (sooner that we think) and thank us. (Or not. Ha!)
Another inspiring, motivated, successful, working mom with a hilariously funny take on all things motherhood is Sheridan French, of the the blog The Southern Eclectic. This post in particular had me in tears the first time I read it (the happy, trying-not-to-pee-yourself kind of tears).
